Sleep With This Sky
SLEEP WITH THIS SKY I want to make love to you underneath Aurora's dance, beneath the vail of pink and green that flutters, not by chance. I want to trace your supple lips while clouds boil from afar, and while entwined by your sweet kiss and neath Capella's star. I want to hear thunder boom while you whisper in my ear, fall stone deaf, to lightening crash, and darling words of cheer. I want to swim twixt sky and earth and splash in our red clay, to taste that you will linger here and vow that you will stay. I want Aurora's curtain light to sway upon our thighs, and take two souls in one to sail, in wispy midnight flies. I want the comets' shower, in a brilliant cosmic storm, to ride us hard in splendid fall, and paint Monet in form. I want the smear of white starlight and earth against our skins, to trust our joyful loving in the shadow of the Twins. If we should wake, to our own quake, but languid in a dream, then our time here, might disappear, but hold us in its stream. - Edlynn Nau © November 3, 2015 Syllables Per Line: 4 0 14 14 14 14 0 14 14 14 14 0 14 14 14 14 0 14 14 14 14
