Sleep Peacefully My Love

Rest soundly my love, and peacefully too, Know that through the night's hours I will be here with you. May sweet dreams invade your head, As you sleep soundly in our marriage bed. Whilst you dream, Dream of only me. Dream of the soft hands that hold you close, Let your world be colored by the tints of rose... And hear only soft whispers spoken softly in prose. But if you should begin to quake in fright, Be reassured that I shall be here to hold you tight. I shall move my lips across your cheek, And dry the tears that doth streak. Hopefully you will sleep peacefully with me here, Just knowing I am near. So sleep easily and know that when you open your beautiful eyes, I will be here with you, our hands and hearts forever entwined.
