Sleep
What cannot be repaired by sweet sweet sleep?
Overgrown minds you must prune and must tend
Forget all the pain you don’t need to keep
All the days sorrows that cause you to weep
Candy coat them, at least sweeten the end
What cannot be repaired by sweet sweet sleep?
The dangerous thoughts and shadows that creep
You say they’re gone but you only pretend
Forget all the pain you don’t need to keep
Once in sleep one can dream, run, dance, and leap
The enemy, the mind, finally a friend
What cannot be repaired by sweet sweet sleep?
Count the bobbing heads of dreamy white sheep
With airy tranquility they may mend
What cannot be repaired by sweet sweet sleep?
Quiet now, quiet now, falling down deep
Thoughts are changing, deeper still, watch them bend
What cannot be repaired by sweet sweet sleep?
Let go of the pain you don’t need to keep
