Sleep

I long for sleep
Hope for a little rest
Maybe some solitude
Or piece of mind at best
I think not
No rest for the weary
It's hard to see through eyes
Eyes that are blinded by tears
Tears that drip onto my page
It makes me aware of my age
I wish I could go back
And start this journey all over again
Where I can't find darkness
Darkness that calls me friend
And torments my soul
Because he knows where addicts go ...
Sleep?
Not today
He smiles and walks away.
