Sleep

Why does this come?
Why so tired?
When is it time?
When is it right?

When I want to sleep
So stressed before
So fear and anxiety
Overtaking my goals
I lay down
My thoughts crowding over each other
I close my eyes
Safe and warm
My blanket calming
My eyes from the room
My mind is lost
In my sleep through dreams
My fear almost always
States my dreams
I wake up though the night
Wondering nothing
With fear
I wake up in the morning
And I think of you
That's what I want to wake too
My getting up
My fight is for you

Nice poem about anxiety and how sleep remedies it Joseph! I find that praying helps too…by the way my maiden name is the same as your last name!:) My father was John Joseph Schaffer…he passed away 2 yrs. ago at age 83 years old…he was from Long Island, New York...
