Sleep

Sleep- oh precious sleep-
How I hunger for your embrace
Wrap me in unconsciousness
To ease this human pain

Free to travel the endless worlds
No chains of human care
Adrift, at peace-
No limits to my sight
United once more with loved ones
Too long gone from my sight

Life is a ludicrous proposition
I'm sure you know that too
Instead of being happy
I'm too often feeling blue

This world, it turns too slowly
Let me quicken up my pace
Alone at last together
Let me see my dead love's face.
