Skull Man Stares at Me

Skull man stares at me from the mirror
Instantly, I recognize my mistake
This was a new life
A chance to get things right
This is why we are recycled and reborn right?

Yet here I am, in the same rut as my last lifetime
Making the same erratic, weird, strange choices
Choices that keep me down
Put me down
Squashing me into mud, muck and mire

Skull man makes no sound
Yet I hear his voice
Feel his disappointment
Same again?
Really?
For skull man is me
