Sixty-Five Degrees

February should be cold,
Not sixty-five degrees.
I sweated in my jacket when
In past years I would freeze.

I shouldn’t be complaining
For the temperatures will drop,
But all this fluctuation’s crazy –
Will it ever stop?

Last week I dressed in layers;
Today just one sufficed.
In two days’ time the puddles
And the roads will all be iced.

I miss the times when calendars
Could pretty much predict
The weather, which would match the clothes
The night before I’d picked.

Oh, I am so with you. It's almost the same situation in Chicago. Let's have a January that's a January, a February that's a February, etc. Nice one, Ilene!

Not sure where I stand about the fluctuations of weather. I can't tolerate extreme cold or extreme heat. Prefer spring and autumn. It's warm today but it will be cold tomorrow with ice everywhere they say. I'll be indoors writing. / M

Our POTUS assures us that Climate Change is fiction, but the folks Down Under aren't swallowing that! Neither are farmers; just imagine the trials and tribulations of a peach tree in such weather! Well thought and caught, Ilene! Aloha! Rico

aloha to you, too, rico! thank you for reading and commenting. it's hard to believe that anyone can deny that climate change is real - we are seeing it in front of our eyes!

The weather is mighty hard to predict! You hit it on the nail with this one, Ilene. Here today in colorful Colorado it is 60 degrees - tomorrow they predict snow, so what is one to do! The old adage here is, "wait 5 minutes and the weather will change!" Bob H PS: the captcha code for this one is NYC -interesting!
