Sisters

WE ARE SISTERS You and I Share the Same Color Eyes. You and I Share the Same Color of Hair. You and I Share the Same Ethnic Skin. What We Are, We Are Sisters. You and I Share the Country of India. You and I Share Foreign Orphanages. You and I Share Foreign Surgical Scars. What We Are, We Are Sisters. You and I Share Memories of Lost Mothers. You and I Share Memories of Lost Fathers. You and I Share Memories of an American Adoption. You and I Share Memories of a New American Mother. What We Are, We Are Sisters. You and I Have Had Childhood Screams. You and I Have Had Childhood Dreams. You and I Have Had Childhood Fears. You and I Have Had Childhood Tears. You and I Have Had Childhood Cheers. What We Are, We Are Sisters. You and I Are Living Separate Lives. You and I Are Dreaming Separate Dreams. You and I Are Spiritually Free. What We Are, We Are Sisters. You and I Are Not Homebound. You and I Are Not of the Same Blood. You and I Are Not of the Same Age. What We Are, We Are Sisters. No matter the length of miles between us, We Are Sisters. No matter the depths of waters between us, We Are Sisters. No matter the time of days and nights, We Are Sisters. Even After Our Deaths, You and I Are and Shall Always Be Sisters.
