Sister Nigeria Bleeds

I got up this morning The sky stained with blood/ Searching for the answer/ Brothers & sisters from Nigeria screamed for help/ The Eagle has fallen from the sky/ It wings have been broken/ It feathers show misery/ The beauty of democracy has faded away/ Welcome to mother Africa/ Where citizens are beaten up/ Standing up for thy right/ Gun sounds make them afraid My heart bleeds for sister Nigeria Blood are seen on her skirts/ Her legs are opened for brutality/ She has been raped for practicing democracy/ I can't stop weeping for Nigeria/ She is swimming in the pool of blood/ The white strip in her flag/ Has been darkened red/ On her skin, I see bruises/ Her land can't flourish peace/ Her eyes can't stop bleeding/ My fingers are shivering while typing.
