Single Snowflake
Jan 1, 2020
her face is frozen,
like a block of ice.
cracks inch along the otherwise smooth surface.
as words fill the air around her.
each one begging her,
to just FEEL something!
to let a glittery sheen light her eyes and curve her lips,
or allow a tear to leak and spill down her flawless skin.
to tug in frustration at her ebony curls,
or sigh. Be human
be herself!
a tremor passes thru her rigid, unmoving body
and a wind pulls fiercely at her hair.
like a kiss, a single snowflake dances into her curls,
brushes white,
and melts away.
