The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Singing Still

Poetic you, filling my head with the dreams

of yesteryears and I am the girl in a Tarzan movie,

fearless of elephants as I jump from tree to tree;

I am the one who makes the call of come-in-peace

and feast at a table spread with fruits of love-gathered

coconuts and all things green to keep us strong.

I yell and you smile and they come from miles and miles

to listen to my midnight song...but I awaken before

the first note leaves my throat so I sat up and wrote

a note to a lover I had pushed away with promises to

honor and obey because sometimes, life even at at

its best is, just that way.
