Singing Man
He carries around his sound machine
with a bounce in his step
tonight it was the Beatles
a late night rendition of 'Blackbird'
he wears a Hannah Montana t-shirt
and he sings to the bronze statues,
they are his audience
He hums while he is in line
at the formerly 24 hour diner
his isn't the best voice,
but you can hear his heart
if you listen closely
and I see it when people
look at him strangely
with disdain
without understanding
people stare
while averting eyes
he has a song
in his heart
and a smile on his lips
which is more than
can be said for most
