Singing For Light

O' merciful moon I do love thee But your silver light brings me no comfort On this lonely night Ever could I dream Of sandy shores and sunny days Echoing in my mind Moon, oh moon, do you hate me For the sorrow I feel at the sight of you When the warmth of sun I crave Every moon rise my heart must fall A heavy hand pressed upon my chest With all my feelings confessed Our days were of somber solitude And I never truly expressed gratitude Moon, oh moon, I do apologize My heart was dressed in disguise To hide how I truly felt all along To tarry the bitter tidings Sweet moon your light is beautiful But it is not your own It is merely stolen radiance O' merciful moon I do love thee But your silver light brings me no comfort When sunlight I crave
