Sing the Soul, Sing

Sing. And mourn.
Yes, we do these things.
We are told so to do.
There are songs and sadness.
We bring the two –
the melody, the mourning –
together. As one.

You passed from me, of course,
and I seek comfort
in bringing song to the soul,
the soul that is now melody
but is a mourning.

Your "Sing the Soul, Sing," needs to be sung. Music is good for the mind, body and soul. Have a blessed day writing away..................

Music has an amazing power to express sorrow while at the same time soothing and healing - an amazing dichotomy. Read a report that music and singing release endorphins. You have captured this essence perfectly. All the best.

Music is probably the true “soul food.”

There is a comfort in bringing song to the soul when there’s a loss in one’s life. I’m finding that’s so as my husband has been very ill in hospital for nine weeks. A comforting write Andrew… Belle
