Sing Me a Song

Sing me a song
That lacks the lyrics
That you spray through my hearing
Sing me that song
That I would want to hear

I insist and persist
That you must sing me the song
That will drag me not to resist
That this must be the song
That you sang that day
Yes that is the song
That my ears yearn to hear
The that I’ve longed for
That song that, you since forgot
Since I’m all you got

The song you sang last night
Killed the woman in me
It killed the fire
That once lit in me
The fire you lit
The fire that knits our hearts
Into one big happy smoke
Sing not that again
For it took away my smile

Sing me the song
That them fruits
Of our golden union
Will hear and smile and laugh and giggle
Because they don’t understand
Why you stand and land
Why the big you, would giggle and shy
Why you squeeze one eye at me
And I squeeze two instead
Sing me that song
That explain me this mystery

Sing one not two
That you’ve never sang
To any of your gang
Sing it to the one and only one
A song to be kept
A song to be praised
Not to be left
A song that will raise
The sinking soul in me.
