Sincerely Yours

In your hands you hold my life
Firmly, handle me like a knife
Cut a love so deep into my heart
You possess my inner most part

You wear a hidden smile like a crescent moon
Without your shine I’m half a man
In your face you holdback a laugh
At my not-so-funny jokes, choke like half-a-cough

You call me your 'hero'
If only you knew,
I’m a sidekick looking for a superhero
You’re stronger than you’ll ever know

I’m hopeless without your cape of kindness
Loveless without your seductive superpowers
You’re my obsession and my only delight
My lighthouse when I'm lost in life’s darkest night

All I am is a man in an intoxicated state
Drunk on your perfect figure eight, struggling to stand-up straight
The one weakness I can’t turn into a strength
The one person from which I can never hide the truth
