Sin and Forgiveness

You know and have seen all I have done
and made me view all one by one
my own iniquity so clearly I see
What possible value can you find in me

Words I have spoken that caused others pains
deeds not worth speaking who's knowledge remains
How many times have I others failed
against the treatment by so many I railed

Oh Lord you have seen all that I am
each deed in the life that do I span
remove from me all vanity and lies
and all my own actions that I so despise

Chasten me not in your hot displeasure
for the words of your law are the things that I treasure
Day and night I consider your laws
things of my failings that so give me pause

I reel within since you've opened my eyes
and the self delusion who was my disguise
I fear to think of what I might find
If I could see clearly with sight of your mind

I bow beneath the sins I discovered
with praise and thanks to know they are covered
My feet had slipped into the path of sinners
My heart was cold for so many winters

Years I have your understanding sought
since the first time I knew I was bought
like a repurchaser in ancient times
out of slavery who's chains defines

The sources of waters and light that gives life
with betrothment to your Son I am wife
with forgiveness you have my heart won
a gift you've created for the heart of your Son

May I always your Loves wisdom to listen
within the world this was what was missing
over and over you have proved yourself loyal
May I never by actions the truth of it spoil
