Simply Thankful

rain pouring down
wind expressing its fears
a chill moving all around
as angels cry their tears
the sun shone for a brief moment
    before its time to set
    in the children are sent
    the streets cold and wet
sitting by the fire
I write this little verse
a storm takes us higher
reminding us things could be worse
    so on this icy night
I'm thankful for home and family
    just a little insight
    lovingly to you from me
