Simplicity

In a pond, near a stream,
The barefoot little girl crouched silently.
Only the screech of a bluebird was heeded.
Plus prayers for a true friend.
That she really needed.

It was beautiful to see her honesty!
I observed surreptitiously behind
an Oak tree.
Such simplicity in her supplication,
I added my own to her angelical
incantation.

Your lines expectedly weigh in tonnes and your consistency has made you a master of masters in this act. This is beyond compliments. Good work mate. An absolute beauty.

Hello Funon. Thank you for a priceless compliment! I consistently suffer from viewing myself as one of the weakest poets here. Because I am not good at short poetic forms. They just are not me! I like to write as me. Not as a form.nor am I good at mind lowing imagery..Hope I made sense. Love, Panagiota

So real Panagiota - you interpret the innocence and simplicity of a child, something that in today's world is not allowed to develop - 'such simplicity in her supplication, I added my own to her angelical incantation' - so sweet, such heartfelt understanding. Kudos my friend. Hugs, jennifer.

You are right in your viewpoint. I would not want to grow up in today's world for a long list of reasons. One is God has no room in our hearts nor world. Once upon a world, we knelt before a Cross, or some churches did not require it. Today we kneel before 5G,cell phones, iPads. Friends in the flesh replaced by keyboards? And FB? Love, Panagiota

"Awaken them slowly, carefully, or they may be startled, feeling little more than shadows frantic with Light." Sadly children are not allowed to remain children long enough, forced to ponder too soon our world of adult heartbreaks. Lovely writing my friend! Sensitive and real.

With heartfelt appreciation, Joe. Your quote is very appororiate! I cannot imagine growing up in ths nutso world. My grandson, turned 13 today. He attends private school. BTW, new law in CA out to punish the clergy. Only the crackpots in gov know eternal truth? Watch synagogues and chuches go next, and the Torah and the Bible. Now that Climate Change and Androgyny are new religions, especially here..this is what kids learn. Best we pray hard and often. Panagiota
