Simple Sigh

SIMPLE SIGH

blithering idiot!
how doth one declare
to have a love that is not ever there

i reply
with a simple sigh

conventional matrimony
to the heart is somewhat phony
to love someone without warrant
is to love someone for real
trusting another with what
and how you feel
i reply saying that is why 'my love' is not with me
i need no excuse i love who i love
untainted honey my soul did choose

to love someone this deeply
is an honor all its own
we both meet people it is no big deal
i will not melt at a compliment
my direction no one but her can steal
do things to entertain
you will bet to find me dancing in the rain
but i love her more
we have our own lives... to her my life has a perpetually open door

blithering idiot
upon my ears you say
i love one only one... that most relentless way
my heart has yet to wander
she knows that when i miss her deeply... i make it thunder

blithering idiot
i continue to hear
i sleep easy knowing my love is true
blithering idiot....i can sleep peacefully... my question is can you?
