Silver Thread
There is this silver thread between us;
it's woven into our skin.
Our souls are sewn with stitches torn
from the rips and shreds and pain.
In the stillness of the night when
the darkness like a blanket enfolds;
It covers us in peace and quiet,
and lets the memories flow.
No matter how dark it seems,
and how endless the winter chill;
there beats a flame within my blood
for we share the same DNA.
And I feel that you're always close,
now matter how far apart we are;
I see you with my second sight,
and feel you in my heart.
And one day I know,
we'll be together again somehow;
in a boat sailing to heaven
upon a fluffy cloud.
For you and I are connected,
our silver threads woven tight;
and no matter how dark the hours,
I can always foresee the light.
