Notes About The Poem

Constance La France's Old Christmas Poem Contest...submitted 21 Dec 2025.../ pre- written Dec 2015, this is a fave Christmas poem! .../ ' hail Yuletide which allows us to be divinely human and celebrate our kinship with child Jesus' ~ by poet.../ I hope the visual I added is clearly posted

Silver Bells

Canticle of merriment rings out the silver of bells a tingle, a jingle chiming wispy notes across frosty mist, as hands clasp with a pealed language warbling the same holiday bliss: ‘let there be peace on this earth’ while ornamental dingers trill on pines, and around fireplaces. Seasons cannot duplicate the joy of Yuletide’s awakening, for tassels of glorious cheer spill to herald a reign of winter’s Light, dressed in tinseled varnish... until the silver of evening bells tolls when heaven greets mankind, and mankind greets Emmanuel’s heaven!

Nette, congratulations on penning (and sharing) a really beautiful poem here! I love the way you interweave the joyful, shimmering, and celebratory effects of the chiming of silver bells to subtly (but clearly) announce the true meaning of Christmas - the gift to all of us of the birth of Jesus Christ!! Excellent poem and a well-deserved top-of-podium win! Blessings and very best, Bartholomew
