Silly Tears
I’ve got an overpowering urge to cry
I couldn’t really say why
Just a lot of little things piled up
There’s no simple explanation
As a matter of fact
Anytime I’ve ever cried
It’s never been simply for one reason
So why cry today why now
You’d think I’d have learned
To shrug off disappointments by now
Disappointments
It seems they come around regularly
One right after the other
When things are going great
Sure enough here comes another
Maybe the problem is that
I’ve never asked for much
If I were the demanding type
Maybe I’d command a little more respect
Maybe I wouldn’t be taken for granted
And maybe just maybe
I wouldn’t cry as often
