Silken Scarf

You’re like a red silken scarf caught in the deep thorny brambles of my mind. One that I let slip through my fingers And set Adrift for years on zephyrs of quantum time. And miraculously you lightly floated back with flashes of crimson and black As it got embroiled, torn and flailing , Forever more caught in this emotional bind. Cold forces tear at the fabric as you wave in winds of uncertainty, But I will never let you go. You’re trapped in the prism of my mind Your light bending and refracting, illuminating my darkness and filling my heart with grace. I understand that the gales will always blow and all I have is memory so cruel so kind, And I will never let you go I love you so And I will cling to you Like the silken scarf caught in the brambles of my mind.
