Silhouette

A couple standing looking, Over water the horizon, Glancing from the rocky beach, The waves there with their eyes on. Hand in hand while glancing, As the water splashes round, Seashells, sand and seaweed, Scattered round them on the ground. The sun’s begun its setting, As towards the sky they glance, The sky begins to darken, Seaside puts them in a trance. Then as the sun gets lower, They see shadows on the sea, Casting rays towards them, As full night-time soon will be. The sun replaced by moonlight, As the evening is applied They seem to be unmovable, But have to face the tide. They’re still there with their hands clasped, And they won’t be moving yet, The picture real, well painted But they’re just a silhouette.
