Silently Mourning

It's been too long

I'm not going to make it

Much too long

I'm so numb I can't fake it

Will I see you again

Or hear your voice

Calling my name

It's been too long

I've been thinking about you

Much too long

Dreaming of things we would do

Is it my fate to live

Silently mourning

The dread of a heart

It's been too long

Will I ever spread broken wings

Much too long

Even Winter must turn to Spring

I'll never feel the touch of your lips

Never will I hold you

In the arms of a kiss

It's been too long....

Much too long...

Silently Mourning...

the repeating effect of "It's been too long" gave this great impact. Well done, Arturo.

Arturo, Very nice write, the sadness reminds us we go on. "I always knew looking back on my tears would bring me laughter, but I never knew looking back on my laughter would make me cry." -Cat Stevens

Beautiful..... Some times a loss is never over. They say time helps. Time only moves on. The loss never moves on. May you be blessed by today........

Longing is superseded by despair and loss of hope...and worst of all, no light is visible at the end of the tunnel! Your poem brings all this to mind, Arturo. Regards // paul

There is a way to get over the mourning. We can still love the other so deeply, we actually let them go. Relationships really never end as I see it. They just change form. I still love a few men and always will. But in an entirely different context. My love for them is very much alive even though we have not seen each other in years..,Panagiota aka Anne Landers? LOL

Your words are so completely sad...they are like water, draining out the spirit of the the day itself...waiting.. So very "folding and making small" until all gone... that is left...nothing... Excellent poem my friend. I am sad if this it a true right for you. Ann
