Silently

Silently,
a muted tuning fork
longing for an absent touch

wet leaves
cling to the windshield
awaiting sunrise

discarded
mid the thunders roar
an umbrella spins

muddy footprints
laugh
handprints on the wall

the winds of change
blow kisses
a tattered flag

every clock believes
it knows
what time it is

now
is the only
forever moment

old men sit
lost
the myth of age

old women know
old men
are lost
