Silent Tears

When a child cries inside
their tears will never show
Their life is full of masking hurt
so not a soul will know
The pain and anguish seeping out
on every blessed dream
till all that’s left is a life of woes
flowing all up stream
To every branch and every corner
all hope soon disappears
The exhausted fight to one day find
that purely fallen snow
to echo humble visions
of a peaceful safe abode
When a child cries inside
it doesn’t come and go
It walks beside their every step
a dreadful lifelong foe
