silent scars

Outside the story is told
But inside
                 Is damaged most
But it`s the damage
                     that doesn`t show
and left is only the feeling of being
    alone
              abandoned
                              worthless

the question of guilt
is silently asked
inside it just throbs
and it is never answered

The storm clouds gather
And the prey tries to run
But the lightening always finds its target
And strikes
                       And strikes
                                             And strikes

A relentless bombardment

the battle scars eventually heal
but it’s the damage left inside
that plays its game of hide
