Silent Reflections

When I look in a mirror
Its never me I see
Maybe its the me
I'm suppose to be
Maybe I locked the door
Maybe i hid the key
I try to read the face that stares at me
But he unlike me shakes his head
He looks away.
Disappointed and ashamed of a life
I have forced him to live
Why won't he look me in the eyes
Why won't he speak and tell me
The smile he once had
Seems to have faded
Maybe he's just jaded
The silence is overwhelming
Why won't he allow me to be me
Why won't I allow him to be free
