Silent No More

Clouds dim from a fevered night bare as skin of dragonflies trapped, and she paces along tattered leaves strewn on barbed fences of life moaning through a distant breeze: yet the candle burns inside her heart to feed dire hunger of jailed souls.... There, this bruised woman circles around in a furnace of hope...on a barren lane where mangled sparrows cry in despise; and the will to plod an inner odyssey rages, searching for some need to fill breaths of peace not only for herself but for a biting desire to give women and children a voice which honors plain dignity violated and spit by vulgar words, alcohol, shattered glass...enough! her own pain hollers from the marrow, the kind that flames the heavens and rain.

Nette, we do need to treat everyone in the way we would wish to be treated. I think you are on target that we push politically and as a society to end domestic violence. It does seem though enough is enough at this point in our tenure here on the planet.

Dear Nette, thank you i just read your note on the top about domestic violence, its good to read you mention also men, as abuse of any form has no gender or race, or face, i know men too face and suffer in silence, as for your poem, theres something very poetic about the way youv written your lines and how youv used metaphors and nature to depict this is beyond powerful. From the very first line you left me in awe impressed! "Clouds dim from a fevered night bare as skin of dragonflies trapped" soul hitting take! Thank you for sharing! Congratulations on your top win in my contest, appreciate your support
