Silent

Rules and what I knew are now no more
They're replaced by a silence in my mind
The angels I see are falling down
Their mirrors will compliment their twisted frowns

To hate another feeds my pain
Reflecting shadows will then come to claim
The angry tension and its strings
The fuel I need to know what’s happening

I’d like to think that I can escape
Hiding, returning to fearful shapes
My mind revives the things I loved
But I step back and I see that it’s just my blood

Caught in this silence without a voice
Nothing, an empty and painful choice
But out of the things I have come to find
This really is the only true place in my mind

I’ve come so far for a reason lost
To sleep now can only come at a cost
The things that hurt me and tell me why
If I wake up, they would just be another lie
