Silence Speaks

Silence speaks sensually, unhindered by a fickle tongue or misspoken word. Her beauty transcends her muted world of quietude and introspection. And independent of sound her body-language expresses intimate, fledgling feelings; despite having never heard laughter or the sound of a human voice. Her world widens with my touch: As my kiss ignites the tactile flame of passion. When words cease to exist: two hearts communicate in perfect, tranquil silence; like synchronized swimmers in a river of time. Others may doubt the strength of a love unspoken: but they'd be wrong to do so. For love is felt more oft than heard, as it tiptoes silently between two halves of a dually shared soul.

Oh Emile, what a lovely poem so filled with your vivid imagery. I almost missed the reference to deafness. And you are so right - "love is felt more oft than heard" - such wisdom! Congratulations on your win! Good luck in the contest. Happy Easter. Stay well.
