Silence Over Pale Water

Chill, steaming vapour;
Silence over pale water;
Above the east gate...
Thin ribbons in the pink
 Light.
I dip oars...and silence
  Breaks.

John, I am really liking your poetry. You are able to convey so much with your word choice, as a good poet does. Wonderful images here. Jeanne

Hello John Fleming, I felt like I was there with the oar in water breaking the silence. I find just by hearing the sound of water moving to shore, relaxing. Enjoyed this poem. Enjoy your day my friend. Be safe.
