Silence of the Lamb
Silence
A lamb is slaughtered
The sordid cries of pain not from the lamb
But the butcher who must eat
Live and let live, or, live or die
Who is a philosopher to deny
Us the people the right to eat
Empty bellies do not think
Of tomorrow
Silence of the night
We all dream of peace
Until the misty dusk arrives
Clouds of total silence
Darkness
For the philosopher sings
As we sleep
In Death
