Silence In the Night

Listen
Listen
Listen

Silence in the night
Whose bitterness
Encompasses the glory of the stars

What do you search for
What do you yearn for
What need will feed your appetite

Surely not here
With a soul and his memories
Waiting to join them again

Surely not here
In the hallways of happiness
Ever so vast

Surely not here
On the golden sunset
Of dreams yet to be

Sitting there lonely
In now empty room
All that remains

There is no reason to smile
There is no hope for laughter
And yet he does

Maybe that is what you’re after
Maybe this is what you seek
Maybe never had to happen

Emptiness forgotten
Silence now is your form
The answer to life without cause

Emptiness forgotten
Can’t you leave this one alone
Whose life you never knew

Emptiness forgotten
Seeks too late a heart
As the light goes out
