Silence and Escape

Hiding behind man-made… walls and boundaries. The past lingers. A caged tiger pacing. Striped secrets hidden…camouflaged. Stalks through my thoughts… Influences… Persuades… Negative… Stress… …magnified. Denial… Easy to point away. Unbeknownst hurt to those truest to heart. The walls weaken. A single predatory eye stares through a crack in the wall. Boundaries start to be tested… The tiger stands on hind legs and licks the wall…to test. Unresolved trauma and problems shift blame to the loved. The walls collapse… Dominos. The weak are easy prey… Claws and teeth sink into flesh. More of a play thing…really; Love is absent, care is false, and time given only for lust. The tiger yawns… walks away satisfied and free. No worries. Left… Awoken from your dream, a pile of rubble…your castle. Three children weep, holding a hand of someone forgotten in the ruins. Realization.. thunder is heard. Torrents of rain. A flood. Emotions…you can’t swim. No escape.
