Silence

when did we stop.
how did your open face
close its door...
it was alive before
                   why does your back
                   say more
                   than determined
                   silence on closed lips
       tweed fishbone pattern
       second skin, defensively
       crafted around
       dismissive gestures

                         where did we halt
             increasing pace
                                     did we displace
               what once was harmony?
