Silence
Out of the silent hills
of God I came to be.
My breath He did fill~
His mountain cradled me.
The shedding of blood,
with His strength I am strong.
I now have my freedom.
This is my story, this is my song.
Deep in earth's silent hills,
from flower and rock and sod,
I drew the peace that stills;
where never a man had trod.
With silence around me,
and joy in the forest old~
I know my Savior lives.
For which I gave no gold.
Since Heaven takes my part,
and God is fast my Friend,
hope never leaves my heart;
with joy my life I spend,
Now on my Father's Side
To sleep, where God wills,
faith keeps me to the end:
deep in His silent hills.
