Notes About The Poem

Silence

When silence listens to me in a serene moment,
I imagine strolling on a village-path
Meandering to the unknown,
The verdant  grass I tread on, is velvety soft,
I remember my mother’s soothing touch,
The vermilion sky leans and whispers to me.
In that sublime unperturbed occasion,
I speak to my own heart throbbing and pining for the friend
Who deserted me many years ago!

Sometimes silence speaks to me
Among a roomful of unfamiliar visitors.
Like a wafting cloud I slowly disappear from their company,
No one notices the void my absence creates,
I feel myself in meditation with eyes closed
On top of a mountain where an emerald waterfall
Descends on the coral rocks with  a roaring sound,
The halcyon water mirrors the crimson sky!
I sense the unruffled silence listening  to my soul.

Dear Sam, simply delighted to see your comment. I am very sorry, for a while I haven’t been active at Soup. I am still working on a memoir-writing project, which will continue till August. I am also planning to get 2 or 3 books published - with paintings by my daughter. Hopefully I will be back soon with focus on writing poetry and reading poems by my kind, supportive friends. Send my best wishes to you, Sam. Love ~

Ah this made me feel so much dear mala, youv written a very descriptive and soulful take on craigs prompt, i love the depth of your word weaving and how youv mentioned youR mother; emanates nostalgia and love that lingers even in silence, where echoes of the wind feels us! I love the way youv also written "I remember my mother’s soothing touch, The vermilion sky leans and whispers to me.I speak to my own heart throbbing and pining for the friend Who deserted me many years ago! Dear Empress, Your comment makes me feel on cloud nine. Recently I am keeping engaged with some writing projects, and not being active on Soup. But once in a while some themes catch my attention, and sometimes i want to read the poems my poet-friends are composing with their gifted quills. Thank you for reading my poem, and commenting with so much appreciation.
