Many people also say that Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen can't sing, but to me, they are poets and great songwriters. I also think they're great singers. For me, it's about the delivery and the emotion conveyed. That's why they are great live performers, too. Leonard Cohen influenced many. Thanks for educating me. I'm going to check out his poetry :)

I thought he was just a music man myself till a grade 9 poetry lesson presented Suzanne. Many still say he couldn't sing, but he delivered his poetry none the less. He's an icon in these parts ;), (I even got the tattoo) xomo!

Hi , What a deep Senryu. “Music” is loud, but the sound of “crickets chirping “ represent “ silence” And silence is where one gains there most understanding. Not many words but deep.I’m adding this to my favs. Have and nice day.PS,thanks for being the first to comment on my most recent blog:-) Alexis

Thank you Alexis, I am so glad you caught that. Leonard Cohen's raspy voice has been mocked by poets here, so that element is delivered here too. "I'm your man" a famous song of his; and my favourite haiku: "silence and a deeper silence when the crickets hesitate". Warm hugs always my friend, xomo!

Those crickets started a dance craze back in the 1960's: 'C'mon baby, do the hesitation!' ~ Reluctantly

Leonard did write it in the 60's; Crickets probably worked better than Beatles... ;), xomo!
