Silence

Alone in the silence,
how still the world must seem
and yet we're here awake
but it feels like a dream.

In a room full of people,
where the shouting is so loud
you're alone in the corner
drowning out the crowd.

You wonder why you feel lonely,
in the company you keep
night can't come fast enough
to close your eyes and sleep.

It isn't fair the way you feel,
but it's not in your control
and in the silence, you feel safe
the place that heals your soul.

Yes dear Jessica, it happens to all of us at times when we feel alone in a crowd. Silence can be such a comforting friend at times like these. We get the chance to self soothe our fears and doubts. I am glad I chose this poem today, It spoke to me, have a wonderful day.
