Silence
Alone in the silence,
how still the world must seem
and yet we're here wide awake
though it feels more like a dream.
In a room full of people,
where the shoutings are so loud
but you stand alone in the corner
drowning out the crowd.
You wonder why you feel so lonely,
even in the company, you keep
but night can not come fast enough
so you can close your eyes to sleep.
It isn't fair the way you feel,
but it's not in your control
and in the silence, you feel safe
your quiet place to go.
So off to you Lala land,
a safe and quiet place
where only you find inner peace
a close but distant space.
