Signs of the Times

The sky is clear
  the air bracing
Yet streets are empty
  social distance spacing

Fear grips our hearts
  keeps loved ones apart
A deluge of dark news
  tightens the screws

But wait: What is this
  I heard some good news
Dare I repeat it ~
If they let me, I would

Gershon, I've patiently waited to hear the new phrase for separation uttered in a poem. Are we bracing for an impact that we can't avoid? And will the air bags deploy? -Richard

My wife took the bus to work this morning... said it was just about empty. Such are the times we live in. Stay safe my friend.

It has become a cruel waiting game Gershon. I like the imagery of the empty streets. Very well expressed. I tried to write something but nothing came to me. Happy St. Patrick's Day my friend. xxoo
