Signs of the Times

The sky is clear
  the air bracing
Yet streets are empty
  social distance spacing

Fear grips our hearts
  keeps loved ones apart
A deluge of dark news
  tightens the screws  

But wait: What is this
  I heard some good news
Dare I repeat it ~
  If they let me, I would
