Signs Of Spring
Drip by drip, snowmen melt away
as the sun shines longer each day.
And the scent of Spring trails each breeze
as life awakes from Winter's freeze.
Color returns to barren trees
as buds unfold emerald leaves.
And daffodils and tulips show,
popping up through the sullied snow.
The air tastes sweet as honeydew;
the sky dons a robin egg blue.
And love is everywhere, it seems,
as the smelts spawn in creeks and streams.
The honking calls of flocks of geese
advocate for Winter's release.
And Spring's freshness freshens the air;
no other season can compare.
While songbirds sing and hatchlings squawk,
Nature poses in Her green frock.
And warm air caresses your skin
when the first signs of Spring begin.
