Sign of the Times

Seeking pleasure in external bliss
Identifying themselves to illusive truths
Gadgets have become their life force toys
Narcissism consuming their languid souls
Obsessed on which facade to portray
Flaws masked by a virtual display
Trust abhorred by domineering machines
Hiding behind speculative screens
Engaging in idle, futile conversations
Triumphant to lonely trophies consolations
Indifferent to who’s riding on the same train
Microchips supplanted in a lazy brain
Enslaved, oppressed by the ruling social media
Sad and shocking, this new version of encyclopaedia
