Sick Words
Why do we say, “I see?”
When we really mean, “I understand?”
Why do they say, “That’s nice?”
When they are trying to dismiss you
As fast as they can?
Why do we say, “Have a good day?”
When we really don’t give a damn.
Why do we use angry words?
We never want to offend
Is it just that our words have become unhealthy
And they just need some time to mend?
