Siblings Day Again

It’s Siblings Day for those of us Attached by blood to others, Relationships important as The ones to dads or mothers. Our sibs may be supportive And a key to our survival Or possibly competitive, The classic “sibling rival.” We might be close while growing up And drift as we get older Or bond as age encroaches And we seek a lean-on shoulder. But whether we’re in contact Or are lacking in affection, Our circumstance of birth provides A permanent connection.

Nicely done, Ilene! My mother had nine siblings and they adored each other and made time for each other until the day they died - quite unlike my siblings! Aloha! Rico

Yeah, I guess it's the luck of the draw, Rico. We don't have much choice in the matter. Your mom was very lucky...

I no longer have a sibling. Yesterday, April 9, was the first anniversary of his passing. Despite having a legal restraining order on him (he threatened to kill me), I still felt a little remorse. Nice write as usual.

Wow, that's really sad, Robert, in every way. You're not alone in that respect. I feel grateful that I like my siblings, but we live far apart and don't see each other too often...

I've never heard of siblings Day Ilene, it makes me sad as my sister ceased all communication with me in Nov 2015, the last time I saw her was in the lawyers office when we were dealing with dads will, Sadly she no longer contacts mum not even a birthday, Christmas or Mother's Day card:-( All I feel for my sister now is pity:-( hugs Jan xx

I've heard stories like yours before, Jan, and it's sad but not surprising. Many people would never choose their sibs as friends. We're very lucky if we like the ones we're stuck with...
