Shush and Listen

If my life I could relive
It would be for the best
Better than it has yet been
As if I was born again

But as my life is not yet done
I will keep following the sun
As after daytime I go to sleep
Trying hard to keep the peace

Then as daytime creeps ever near
The birdsong sings in my sleepy ears
Then the human traffic outside my windows
Creates a cacophony of sounds

Some are good some are bad
Some are very mad and sad
But like yesterdays news
We are not forever here to stay

We came we saw we thought we were
Invincible I think is the word
But we are the masters of nothing
Other than our own destiny

So it's time to shut up and let mother nature speak
To make sure we hear the voices of the other beasts

So shush and listen is my advice
Every morning, noon and night

You are one excellent Poet! This poem has 106 reads with no comments. Good Lord! The crass souls of poets here. One of the nicest Poets well known here, Said "at least they could say thank If not, this nonsense happens.Rude, plain rude poets. This mean malarkey really bugs me, DAMO. You deserve more readers who are willing to comment. Love should not be only for the big wheels here. Shows me how minuscule we are. Love, Panagiota

Your kind words floor me Panagiota, in such a nice way! To receive such positive feedback from a poet as accomplished as yourself is more than enough encouragement for my humble scribbles. I don't mind if not many readers comment on my writes, as all those that do, such as yourself, help me to hopefully become a better writer. I have only been writing just about a year now, and if it wasn't for a dear friend and masterful wordsmith herself, whom I have never met personally, but whose own love of poetry and faith in me got me started here, then I would have not have found my voice, which is the main reason I write, it's for myself really, although I confess I do like to share them and PS is a great forum for sharing. So once again I thank you for your generosity! until next time sincere wishes DAMO x
