Shrinking and Shrinking

Shrinking down now, With each passing day, Figures fading, Slipping away. Diminishing slowly, Bit by bit they wane, Until just, Numbers remain. Sitting on pages, In ledgers and books, Only a trace remains. Diminishing, fading, Almost out of sight, Reduced to mere digits, No longer alight. A Financial Phantom, Once bold and so clear, Now just a number, Devoid of all cheer. Accounting's faint echo, A numerical scar, Vanishing softly, Quiet and far.

Such an intriguing one. As if written after the death of someone in finances. Did I get that right to at all?

THIS makes one think. You cannot read this poem without working your mind muscles, at least I couldn't. Thank you for poetically stimulating my thoughts ... CayCay

I enjoy your poem. Many things shrink with time, such as muscles , money, and of course, time.

Sometimes age feels like a numerical scar too! what a creative way to describe fleeting time! You have a very deep and creative way with weaving metaphors and this poem is truly deep! And one that made me think of time and age, as time keeps flying diminishing as you say, reduced to mere digits! Clever poem! I absolutely loved reading this! Sending you light always
